We all know heroes, those who wage a heroic battle daily in the struggle for recovery.
They include members of the armed forces, veterans, and their families as well as
our loved ones – children, parents, siblings, and others who demonstrate courage and resilience.
During his Junior year at Georgetown University, Matthew's life was interrupted by mental illness. Over the next 13 years, Matt managed to finish college, but he suffered many setbacks in the process of finding the right treatment and learning to manage his illness. Today he is a professional Wellness Specialist, helping others to achieve wellness and recovery. He is an active NAMI member and facilitates a NAMI Connection support group in Sussex County.
